Mt Beckworth Lollipop Tree Centenary
Come and commemorate the 100th year anniversary of the planting of the Lollipop Tree with a walk along the Southern Ridge to the top of Mt Beckworth.
From 12.30p.m, join in the community celebrations with a BBQ and coffee stalls, live music from local R&B band, The Mercurys, and the reading of the original poem by Bob McKinnon, commissioned for the centenary and history displays.
The starting point for the walk and event site is ‘Phillip’s Paddock’, Mt Beckworth Road, (an extension of Coutts Road,) Mt Beckworth.
First walkers to the tree will set off at 9.00a.m. with last walkers leaving for the walk at 10.15a.m.
A brief ceremony on the Mount will commence at 11.00a.m.
Tickets for the walk are free, but you must register beforehand and present your Registered Walker ticket on the day. All registered walkers will receive a Commemorative Certificate.
This is an alcohol-free family event and we also ask that you leave your pets at home.
