Requiem for a Dreamscape
August 3 @ 5:00 pm - September 1 @ 10:00 amFree
The exhibition will address the relationship between wildlife and the childlike human spirit.
The animals are symbolic of companions that represent aspects of one’s self that need awakening, actualisation and growth. The creatures depicted in these works are intended to metaphorically convey missing or forgotten parts of an individual’s spirit; such as creativity, trust and affection; that are often distilled in modern day life. Exhibiting the positive and genuine traits that children practice naturally (that is often difficult to grasp among common adults), the observer is prompted to reawaken their youthful selves.
I want the viewer to acknowledge the colourful and wondrous world view of the child within them; accepting the sincerity of art as a reflection of our inner child.
