Your hand held GPS unit will show you the way.

Choose from a selection of carefully mapped bushwalks on the tracks and trails of the Wombat Forest, according to your tastes and abilities. Be immersed in lush fern gullies or tall forest, or take in high country mountain views or dramatic river gorges. Short, medium and long, easy or challenging walks are available.

As well as the forest walks, The Lake Daylesford GPS Treasure Hunt is a new, fun and interactive game for families, friendship groups and, well, anyone who likes the trill of the hunt, teamwork and reward. Based on the International GeoCaching, it’s like a high tech Treasure Hunt set in beautiful surrounds.

Hepburn Regional Park

Hepburn Regional Park is located around the famous mineral springs townships of Daylesford, Hepburn and Hepburn Springs. Here you will find natural mineral springs and relics of the gold mining era set in delightful bush surroundings.

The sheltered extinct volcanic crater of Mount Franklin provides ideal surroundings for a picnic or short term camping. Panoramic views can be obtained from the summit and there is a scenic walking track along the rim of the crater.

Creswick Regional Park

Centrally located between Ballarat and Daylesford, this park is home to a variety of native wildlife and colourful spring wildflowers.

Explore the ancient hills and discover the relics of the gold mining era on a bushwalk or mountain bike ride – or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings with a picnic by tranquil St Georges Lake.

Argyle Spring | 2.8km 1 hour return walk

Explore the forest around the Hepburn Springs Mineral Reserve and taste some of this areas famous mineral water.

The walk starts from the reserve carpark or from Wyuna Spring. Follow Argyle Gully past Mother Goose mine. Return via the same track.
