From here, Sailors Creek meanders through a series of gorgeous rock pools before continuing on through Hepburn Regional Park. Located just a few minutes from Daylesford, Sailors Falls also features mineral spring taps, undercover picnic tables, and excellent information displays. Sailors Falls is thought to be named after the sailors who jumped ship to seek gold in the area during the 1850s gold rush. Throughout this area, you can spot the remnants of water races that delivered sluice water to the gold diggings to uncover the nuggets of precious metal. Hepburn Regional Park is one of six Aboriginal title parks in Central West Victoria, which are jointly managed by the Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation and Parks Victoria.
